Holland Park

DESCRIPTION

Holland Park is one of London’s most beautiful green spaces. The park surrounds a Jacobean mansion, Holland House, named after its second owner, the Earl of Holland. The House was a meeting place in the 19th century for political and literary activity, however it was largely destroyed by bombs during World War 2. The Park now houses the Japanese-style Kyoto Garden with its koi carp and bridge at the foot of a waterfall. If visiting with family, there is a huge playground, with an array of climbing equipment, a tyre swing and zip wire, with a separate play area for your smaller children. During the summer season, opera performances in an open-air theatre take place in the park.
